Mohamed Salah surprised the football world by confirming that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, ending a nine-year cycle in which he became one of the greatest idols in the club's history.

The Egyptian striker announced the decision through his social networks with an emotional message: “I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined to what extent this club, this city, these people would become part of my life. Liverpool isn't just a football club. It's a passion, it's a story, it's a spirit. I can't explain in words someone who isn't part of this club.”

Salah, who arrived in 2017 from Rome, was a key player in one of the institution's most successful stages. During his tenure, he won several titles and established himself as the top foreign goal scorer in the Premier League, surpassing Sergio “Kun” Agüero, and as the third highest gunner in the club's history with 255 goals in 435

games.

In his farewell, the attacker also thanked teammates and fans for their support over the years: "Leaving is never easy . They gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home for me and my family. Thank you for everything. Because for all of you, I will never walk alone.”

From Liverpool, they confirmed the news in an official statement and explained that the decision to anticipate the announcement responded to a request from the soccer player himself, with the aim of providing transparency and allowing fans to fire him during the last months of competition. “There are a lot of games left to play, so Salah is fully focused on trying to achieve the best possible result for Liverpool,”

they said.

The departure comes in a context of wear and tear with the coaching staff and management, marked by recent episodes in which the player expressed feeling “betrayed”, a situation that led to sanctions and some games

outside the squad.

With his future still to be defined, Salah is preparing to close his time at Anfield with the aim of winning a new title and saying goodbye at the top, leaving an indelible mark on the history of the English club.
