On Sunday, municipal elections were held in France at the national level, in which more than 35,000 communes elected their representatives to local councils.

In these elections, the center-right managed to consolidate itself as the country's main political force, reaching 25.47% of the votes and maintaining a total of 23,701 seats.

In second place was the left, with 15.39% of the votes and 13,640 seats. Among the most important municipalities, Paris and Marseille stand out, where their authorities identify themselves as socialist, reaffirming their presence in the main urban centers

Other forces also played a significant part in the election.

The so-called diverse center reached 12.36% of the votes and 11,604 seats. For its part, the National Group, led by Marine Le Pen, won 5.54% of the votes and 1,034 seats. Finally, the Republicans, a traditional center-right force, won 3.31% of the votes and 1,910 seats

These results represent a clear triumph for the right, which not only positioned itself as the first force at the national level, but also managed to hold the largest number of seats among all

political alliances.

This performance is largely explained by the support obtained in rural areas, where voters were overwhelmingly inclined to options related to stability and local management.

On the other hand, the left maintained its strength in large cities, relying on ideologies in favor of mass immigration and alliances with environmental sectors. This phenomenon was especially reflected in the main urban centers, where it managed to sustain its electoral base

As for the center, it showed solid performance in intermediate and semi-rural cities, even managing to prevail in some important locations such as

Mulhouse and Bordeaux.

The National Group, meanwhile, replicated a pattern similar to that of the traditional right, with good results in rural municipalities and notable victories in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, such as Perpignan and Nice.

Taken together, these elections leave a clear message on the French political scene: as the right expands its territorial presence, the left is forced to strengthen alliances to sustain its influence, particularly in the sectors with the highest immigration flow.
