Giuliano Simeone added an unforgettable chapter to his professional career this Saturday. The forward made his official debut with the Argentine National Team in the 2026 World Cup and, once the match was over, he did not hide his happiness for having achieved one of the goals that any footballer pursues since taking their first steps in the sport.

In a conversation with Argentine media, the attacker expressed his excitement for the opportunity given to him by Lionel Scaloni and described what it meant to experience his first World Cup.

"A unique, unforgettable experience. Very happy to have debuted in a World Cup, it’s what every player dreams of when they start playing football", he stated.

Beyond the joy of his debut, the footballer also analyzed the team's current situation and made it clear what philosophy they adopt for each commitment in the World Cup.

"We always focus on ourselves. Any opponent is difficult. We have to try to inflict maximum damage on the opponent with our best weapons", he maintained.

The statements reflect the working philosophy upheld by the coaching staff led by Lionel Scaloni, which has prioritized collective performance over the name of the opponent for several years.

The advice from Cholo Simeone before the debut

One of the more relaxed moments of the press conference came when journalists asked if he had spoken with his father, Diego "Cholo" Simeone, before playing his first minutes in a World Cup.

The Atlético de Madrid coach, who was also a key player for the Argentine National Team during his playing career, conveyed a simple yet meaningful message.

"To stay calm and to be myself", Giuliano revealed with a beaming smile.

Who is Giuliano Simeone?

At just 23 years old, Giuliano Simeone has established himself as one of the great promises of Argentine football. The forward is the son of Diego "Cholo" Simeone and currently plays for Atlético de Madrid, where he earned a spot on the first team after loan spells at Real Zaragoza and Deportivo Alavés. His growth in LaLiga and his strong performances with the Spanish team opened the doors to the Argentine National Team and allowed him to join the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
