Lamine Yamal: "I think we are going to win the World Cup because I don't see a team that is better than us"

Just a few hours before the match against Austria in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, Lamine Yamal expressed confidence about his physical condition and the aspirations of the Spanish national team. The winger assured that he is fit to play the entire match and is convinced that Spain has what it takes to fight for the title.

From the Spanish national team's training camp, the Barcelona player explained that he is in good physical shape and that his progress continues to be positive.

"I feel very good and very excited. I'm between 80 and 90%, but I'm still improving. I see myself ready to play 90 minutes against Austria," said the forward, who will be one of the main offensive assets for the Spanish team in the knockout stage.

Yamal also analyzed the current state of the World Cup and highlighted that several of the teams considered favorites were eliminated prematurely, a scenario that boosts the expectations of the Spanish squad.

The winger was emphatic when referring to the possibilities of winning the tournament and stated that he does not see any rival clearly superior.

"I believe that we are going to win the World Cup because I don't see a team that is better than us," he asserted, making it clear the confidence that prevails within the squad before the start of the knockout rounds.
