President Javier Milei received this Monday at Casa Rosada his counterpart from Chile, José Antonio Kast, on what was the Chilean president's first official trip abroad since his inauguration.

The meeting marks a strong political alignment between the two leaders, consolidating a liberal axis in the region with a focus on economic growth, security and international openness.

A strategic meeting with an economic and political agenda

During the day, Milei and Kast held a bilateral meeting accompanied by the Argentine Foreign Minister, Pablo Quirno, and his Chilean counterpart, Francisco Pérez

Mackenna.

Later, the meeting was expanded in the Eva Perón Hall, where key officials from both governments participated, in a clear sign of the strategic importance of the bilateral link.

A regional block aligned with the West

The harmony between Milei and Kast is no accident: both share a pro-market vision of institutional strengthening and

alignment with the West.

The meeting reinforces the idea of a regional block that seeks to leave behind interventionist models and move towards policies of economic freedom, security and international cooperation.

Chilean side, key cabinet figures participated, including Ambassador Gonzalo Uriarte, Minister of Public Security María Trinidad Steinert and Minister of Public Works Martín Arrau

, among others.

Also part of the delegation were Undersecretary Paula Estévez, Secretary Frank Tressler and Presidential Advisor Eitan Bloch.

For Argentina, Milei was accompanied by Secretary General Karina Milei, Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni, Economy Minister Luis Caputo and Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva, and other officials.

A political gesture with a high regional impact

The fact that Argentina was Kast's first international destination reinforces Milei's centrality in the

new regional political map.

The meeting not only has a bilateral impact, but it also projects a signal to all of Latin America: the consolidation of governments that prioritize economic freedom, order and international cooperation.

Argentina and Chile, strategic partners in a new phase

The meeting opens the door to a joint agenda in trade, infrastructure, security and foreign relations.

Both governments seek to deepen integration and coordinate positions in an increasingly challenging global context.
