The electoral process in Peru 2026 continues with preliminary results that reflect a highly fragmented and undefined scenario in the first round. According to the quick count prepared by Ipsos, with 95.7% of the minutes processed, Keiko Fujimori is in first place with approximately 17.1% of the valid votes, consolidating her position as the most voted candidate in
this initial instance.The dispute for second place, meanwhile, is tight between several candidates. Roberto Sánchez reached close to 12.4%, followed by Rafael López Aliaga with approximately 11.3%. Jorge Nieto with around 10.7% and Ricardo Belmont with about 10.2% also remain in competition, in a context of narrow margins
among the main applicants.
These results show a marked dispersion of the vote, with at least five candidates concentrating similar percentages and none exceeding 20% of the votes. In this context, everything indicates that the presidential definition will be transferred to a second round, in which the two most voted candidates will participate once the official ballot is over.
