A Russian court sentenced Tatiana Zorina, owner of a bowling alley in Eastern Siberia, to four years in prison, accused of organizing activities linked to the “international LGBT movement”.

The sentence was handed down by the Ingodinsky District Court, in the city of Chita, which found Zorina guilty of organizing activities of an “extremist organization”, based on article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code.

In addition to the prison sentence, the 23-year-old will not be able to manage online forums or lead public associations for four years after regaining her freedom.

The case originated after a police raid carried out on October 26, 2024 at the Tochka nightclub, formerly known as Jackson, located in that city. The operation was carried out by police forces together with members of the Russian Community, an organization with pro-government ties

.

During the procedure, the venue hosted a “transformism show”. As indicated, the bowling alley operated privately, with restricted access to people who had previously registered and passed identity checks

.

According to local media outlet Chita.ru, Zorina had started working as a DJ at the establishment before acquiring it in 2023. From the raid to the trial, he remained under house arrest, without access to a telephone or internet, according to

local media reports.

The research argued that the club was used to “promote the ideology” of the “international LGBT movement” and to attract new members. Along these lines, the Ministry of the Interior of the Transbaikal Territory stated that it had succeeded in “ceasing the activities of a club that promoted an ideology prohibited

in the country”.

The legal basis for this type of accusation dates back to November 2023, when the Russian Supreme Court declared the “international LGBT movement” an “extremist” organization and banned its activities.

The Zorina case adds to other recent precedents. The first criminal case under this figure occurred in March 2024, when the owner of the Pose club was arrested in Orenburg. By the end of 2025, at least 23 “extremism” cases related to LGBTQ+ activities were ongoing in Russia
