The judicial case investigating crimes against the sexual integrity of minors in the Córdoba town of Villa de María de Río Seco has added 3 new arrests in recent raids, bringing the total to 15 people deprived of liberty. Among the new additions to the case is the apprehension of a member of the Provincial Police of Córdoba, who faces accumulated charges of grooming and sexual abuse. The actions led by prosecutor Analía Cepeda have so far identified 4 female victims who are minors, with a 16-year-old girl testifying about events that began a year and a half ago.
Within the group of 15 accused, the situation of José Villarreal, former advisor to provincial legislator Ernesto Flores, stands out, who requested leave from the Unicameral after the abuse cases became known. The formal accusation against the former parliamentary advisor includes the crimes of online solicitation and sexual abuse with carnal access allegedly committed on a property belonging to the legislator. Regarding the potential involvement of the legislative body member, prosecutor Analía Cepeda clarified: "For now, we do not need to summon Flores; the evidence does not indicate that he knew about this."
The rest of the arrested individuals primarily work as taxi drivers or transporters in that region of the northern province. The judicial hypothesis establishes that the suspects shared the contact information of the victims, taking advantage of the socioeconomic vulnerability of their family environments. Meanwhile, authorities are analyzing the placement of subdermal contraceptive devices in 2 of the 4 affected minors within local assistance centers. In the case of a 14-year-old girl, the presence of the father during the corresponding medical intervention was confirmed.
