Franco Colapinto is already focused on the Belgian Grand Prix. After a solid ninth place at Silverstone, where he climbed ten positions to score points with Alpine, the Argentine driver expressed his excitement about competing at Spa-Francorchamps, one of the most traditional and challenging tracks on the Formula 1 calendar.
The Buenos Aires native did not hide his enthusiasm for returning to the Belgian circuit, which he described as one of his favorites. "I am very happy to be back at Spa this week to race in one of my favorite events on the calendar. I am a big fan of this circuit, which is fast and exciting to drive in all categories," he stated.
In that sense, he explained what makes the track in the Ardennes so special. "The high-speed corners always demand a lot of commitment and there are also many overtaking zones, especially this year, with cars that can follow much closer," he analyzed.

"The management of energy will also add an interesting element to the weekend and we will work very hard during the free practices to fine-tune our optimal strategy on this demanding circuit," he added.
Additionally, Colapinto also referred to the morale boost that the result achieved at the British Grand Prix provided, where he made a remarkable comeback from 19th on the grid to finish ninth. "Scoring points at Silverstone was positive, especially after climbing 10 positions to finish in ninth place," he affirmed.
However, he made it clear that the goal is to maintain that performance in a very competitive season. "The battle with our rivals is incredibly tight in the Constructors' Championship, so we are working hard to ensure we can compete with them in Belgium, now that we approach the last double-header before the summer break," he emphasized.

Finally, the Argentine closed with a football reference, as the activity in Spa will coincide with the semifinal of the 2026 World Cup between the Argentine National Team and England. "I can't wait for Wednesday night! Great World Cup semifinal against England, from where many of my team members come! We'll see who is happier on Thursday!," he joked.
When Colapinto Returns to Race
After scoring points again, the Argentine driver will try to maintain the good streak at the Belgian Grand Prix. The engines at the Spa-Francochamps circuit will start in two weeks, on Friday, July 17, with the first free practices and will have action until Sunday, July 19, the same day as the final of the 2026 World Cup, although earlier, with the main race. It is worth noting that, in his only appearance at this track last year, the native of Pilar finished 19th.
