Telefe confirmed the return of Avenida Brasil through a promotional video aired in recent hours.
"A story that captivated millions of people. Avenida Brasil returns very soon. The soap opera of all time is back on Telefe," states the preview released by the channel.
So far, the channel has not informed in which month the broadcast will begin or what time slot will be chosen for its return.
Avenida Brasil premiered on Telefe on December 16, 2013, and aired its last episode on July 7, 2014.
The audience phenomenon led Telefe to re-air the telenovela in 2015 and again in 2020, at the request of the public.
The story follows Rita, played by Débora Falabella, a young woman seeking to reclaim the life she lost because of her stepmother, Carminha, a character played by Adriana Esteves.
After her father's death, Carminha and her lover Max, played by Maxwell Oliveira, abandon Rita in a garbage dump known as "Tiradero."
Later, the girl is adopted by a family that takes her to live in Argentina and she is renamed Nina.
As an adult, Nina finds Carminha again and manages to get a job as a cook for her family to execute her revenge plan.
