The former footballer spoke candidly about his romance with Danelik Galazán, the trans participant he met on Big Brother 2026.
However, one of the moments that caught the most attention during the interview was when he talked about the reaction of his inner circle. According to him, both his friends and his parents, who belong to another generation, were surprised to learn about the romance.
Brian Sarmiento's journey on Big Brother 2026 was not only marked by controversies and strategies within the house but also by the romantic relationship he built with Danelik Galazán. Now, far from hiding his feelings, the former player decided to speak publicly about the relationship and surprised everyone by revealing how his closest circle reacted when they learned he was dating a trans woman.
Invited to Random, the show hosted by Leo Montero, the ex-footballer was candid in recalling how the connection with Danelik was born within the reality show and how both decided to handle themselves in front of the cameras.
“With Danelik, our relationship inside was: ‘let's be happy, let's be good. If we see that it complicates the game, we'll step back from one side or the other’,” the media figure explained.
“I don't care what others say. We need to change that. We need to change people's mentality, those prejudices they have of: ‘oh no, but how can you date a trans girl?’ The truth is I didn't stop to think about that,” he expressed.
“It was about feeling good, feeling cared for... besides, she's beautiful. They say: ‘it wasn't genuine, it was a play’. Man, how emotionally unwell people are in love, that they can't think through love. That really holds society back a lot”, he reflected.
“I got messages from my friends, my parents, who are from another generation, like: ‘hey, what did you do?’”, he recalled.
In response to those questions, Brian assured that he reacted firmly. “I looked at them and said: ‘hey, guys, go f... off’,” he said with a laugh.
Although he later acknowledged that he also thought about the impact his story could have publicly. “Then I started to think about the message I could send,” he added.
Finally, he summarized the bond from an emotional and sincere place: “We met, we got along, we had fun, we enjoyed being together.”
