The Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, reiterated his support for the economic direction of the Government of Javier Milei and assured that Argentina is experiencing record levels of consumption, Gross Domestic Product, and exports, while inflation has resumed its downward path and country risk showed a significant reduction.

"The data shows it, we are at record levels of GDP, exports, consumption, and country risk has decreased", stated the head of the Treasury during an interview with Luis Majul on LN+. In this context, Caputo reaffirmed his expectation that the next 18 months will be the best of Milei's administration.

The minister's statements come amid attempts by opposition sectors and media operators to create a consumption crisis based on changes in the purchasing habits of Argentines. However, Caputo emphasized that the aggregated indicators support the recovery of activity and economic growth.

The official also highlighted that the disinflation process has been consolidated since April and linked this trend to the continuity of the fiscal and monetary discipline applied by the Government. "As we continue with this fiscal or monetary orthodoxy, inflation will converge to an international inflation rate. People can rest assured that inflation will continue to decline", he assured.

Caputo also responded to those who claimed a supposed exchange rate lag when the dollar was around $1,400 and who later sought to instill concern over the exchange rate movement to $1,500. As he explained, the Argentine peso simply followed the behavior of other currencies against the dollar in an adverse international context.

"If at 1,400 you campaign for exchange rate lag, at 1,500 you can't campaign for concern", the minister concluded, exposing the contradictions of the critics of the libertarian economic program.

Meanwhile, the head of the Economy highlighted the normalization of the exchange market and recalled that currently Argentines can buy dollars without the restrictions and obstacles that characterized previous administrations. "Today there is no currency control. Anyone who wants to buy dollars can do so without the complications of the past", he emphasized.

Caputo also defended the process of granting road corridors to the private sector. The Government is advancing on 9,000 kilometers of national roads through private investments, with tenders that, as he explained, are being awarded even below the officially established reference prices.

Finally, the minister rejected the possibility of a return to the Kirchnerist model and stated that the comparison between both economic projects is evident to society. "To believe that, for the most part, people will return to the past is an underestimation of the citizenry", he concluded.
