The credit to the private sector showed signs of recovery during June, while the delinquency of the financial system recorded its first decline after a series of consecutive increases, according to the latest Bank Report published by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA).
The irregularity ratio of financing to the private sector decreased by 0.1 percentage points, from 7.7% recorded in May to 7.6% in June. Thus, the indicator interrupted an upward trend that had been maintained since October 2024.

In the case of families, delinquency remained stable at 12.8%, while among companies there were no changes and the indicator remained at 3.5%. The halt is significant after several months in which irregularity had shown increases in a market where private credit is a novelty.
As explained by the Central Bank itself, the evolution was due to a deceleration in the growth of the irregular portfolio, combined with an expansion in the total volume of financing. In other words, loans began to grow at a faster pace than financing with payment issues.
Strong recovery of credit
In parallel, the real balance of credit in pesos to the private sector accelerated during June and recorded its largest monthly growth since June 2025, after several months of setbacks or moderate advances.
The behavior was particularly driven by commercial lines, which recorded a real monthly increase of 3.6%, their largest advance since June of last year, when the electoral turbulence of the 2025 elections occurred.
Real credit balance for the private sector in pesos
A recovery was also observed in lines intended for consumption, which recorded their largest monthly increase since August 2025. Loans with real guarantees also closed the period with a positive variation.
In January, private credit in pesos had fallen 1.9% real, in February it decreased 1.5%, while in April it still showed a decrease of 0.9%. In May, it began to recover, with an increase of 0.3% real, before accelerating again during June.
The latest numbers thus show a double positive movement for the financial system: on one hand, delinquency stopped increasing after more than a year and a half; on the other hand, credit to the private sector regained dynamism, especially in the lines intended to finance the commercial activity.
