The renaissance of Argentina is not only felt in macroeconomic variables but also on the streets and in the purchasing power of citizens who, desperate to make up for lost time during years of Kirchnerism, are massively turning to planning trips abroad.

The qualification of the Argentine National Team to the round of 16 of the World Cup, following a resounding victory against Cape Verde, has acted as a catalyst for a massive consumption phenomenon that spans from tourism to technology and gastronomy.

According to data provided by the platform Despegar, interest in accompanying the national team in its upcoming challenge against Egypt in Atlanta has reached stratospheric levels. Searches for flights from Buenos Aires to the American venue increased by 250%, while the flow from Miami to that city recorded a record increase of 600 percent.

This surge demonstrates a willingness of fans to organize trips with little advance notice, a flexibility that is only possible in a market that is beginning to normalize.

In this regard, the General Manager of Despegar for Argentina and Uruguay, Paula Cristi, stated: “As the tournament progresses, we see that many fans are expanding or reorganizing their itineraries to continue supporting the National Team”.

For those Argentines who decide to invest in their passion, market prices for traveling to Atlanta between July 6 and 12 start from $1,452,411 per person for a basic fare, rising to $1,973,957 if they choose to include checked baggage.

The consumption surge driven by Javier Milei's management is not limited to airports. According to a report by the consulting firm Focus Market, the World Cup enthusiasm is energizing key sectors of the real economy:

Electronics: Sales of televisions grew by 70% in June, reflecting households' investment in durable goods.

Gastronomy and Delivery: According to Picker Radar, delivery orders increase by 148% in the hour before the National Team matches, becoming the peak activity time for the sector.

Sports Apparel: The consulting firm EuroAmericas projects the sale of 2.7 million units of the Argentine jersey, solidifying its position as the best-selling item of the tournament.

Mass Consumption: Globally, the brewing industry expects an additional consumption of 1 billion pints during the tournament, representing a 3% increase in global consumption, according to data from Jefferies.

This euphoria scenario even competes with traditional winter vacations, as many Argentine families are postponing their local tourism decisions to prioritize the experience in the USA, betting on the continuity of Lionel Scaloni's team. Argentina is once again at the center of the map, not only for its football but for a society that, under the ideas of freedom, has regained the ability to choose, consume, and travel without the constraints of the past.
