Liverpool could undergo a significant institutional shift in the coming months. While the club is going through a period of change after a trophyless season, a consortium is working to acquire a minority stake in the institution and, according to British media, Jeff Bezos is among those interested in joining the project.

The information was reported by Sky Sports and other English outlets, which indicated that the founder of Amazon was contacted to participate in the investment. Although there is still no finalized agreement or official confirmation of his involvement, the American magnate is said to have expressed interest in joining the investment group.

The consortium is led by Amit Bhatia, former co-owner of Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and member of the family of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. According to reports published in England, the proposal aims to acquire about 30% of the English club, a move that would value the club at over $6 billion.

For its part, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), owner of Liverpool since 2010, confirmed that it received a manifestation of interest for a minority strategic investment. The American group acquired the club for around £300 million amid a financial crisis and, since then, has driven a profound transformation both on the sporting front and in infrastructure.

In recent years, FSG had already partially opened the capital of the institution with the entry of Dynasty Equity, although it has always maintained control of the club. Now, a potential incorporation of new investors would further increase the value of one of the most important brands in European football.

Beyond the economic aspect, Bezos's possible arrival would have a strong impact from a commercial and global positioning perspective. His involvement could boost Liverpool's international expansion and strengthen its presence as a brand, following a path similar to that of other giants in world football.
