Why is Commerce Employee Day moved to Monday, September 28?
The Law 26.541 establishes September 26 as Commerce Employee Day. Since in 2026 the date falls on a Saturday, it was agreed to move the celebration to Monday the 28th.
The decision was recorded in a circular and a minutes signed on September 7, 2026, in the City of Buenos Aires. The agreement was signed by FAECyS and the business chambers of the sector: the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), CAME, and UDECA.
The law was not modified. The change only pertains to this year's celebration date.
Who does Commerce Employee Day 2026 apply to?
The rest on Monday, September 28, applies to workers included in the Collective Bargaining Agreement 130/75. The measure does not automatically extend to employees in other activities.
For the rest of the population, it will be a regular workday. Banks, schools, public agencies, and industries will operate normally.
