The Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, confirmed the approval of two new strategic projects worth 1.847 billion dollars under the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI), the Government's initiative led by Javier Milei to attract capital and boost productive expansion.

Through his official account, the official detailed: "The RIGI Committee approved two new projects today." These initiatives are related to energy and mining development, two key sectors for generating foreign exchange and economic growth.

The first project corresponds to the San Matías gas pipeline, which will involve a total investment of USD 1.300 billion.

The project will allow the transportation of 27 million cubic meters of natural gas daily from Neuquén to the San Matías Gulf in Río Negro. As Caputo explained, this development will be “100% dedicated to the export of LNG from the SESA project, which had already entered the RIGI last year,” and will enable estimated exports of USD 2.500 billion annually.

The second approved project is the second phase of the Sal de Oro lithium venture, located in Salta and Catamarca. The initiative, carried out by the Korean company Posco, involves a USD 547 million investment to achieve a production of 23,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate.

According to official data, this volume will translate into exports exceeding USD 300 million per year.

These announcements are part of a broader strategy by Milei's Government aimed at promoting the RIGI as a central tool for attracting large-scale investments. Since its implementation, the regime has managed to capture the interest of multiple international companies in key sectors such as energy, mining, and infrastructure.

In this context, the total volume of investments, including approved and under-evaluation projects, already exceeds USD 100.000 billion. This figure reflects not only the initial impact of the scheme but also the expectations generated in the private sector due to clearer rules, macroeconomic predictability, and a regulatory framework aimed at competitiveness.

Moreover, these developments imply the creation of jobs, strengthening of value chains, and revitalization of regional economies.

With new approvals and an expanding project portfolio, Milei's Government seeks to promote sustained growth and position the country as an attractive destination for long-term investments.
