While reports from the Kirchnerist sectors systematically claim that the halt to traditional public works would leave the country devoid of road infrastructure, the reality on the ground exposes the success of the model promoted by the administration of Javier Milei. In the face of accusations of abandonment, the transition to private concession on the vital arteries of the Argentine Republic demonstrates that business efficiency and the private sector achieve results in the modernization of national roads.
The flagship case of this transformation is the National Route 14 (along with sections of National Route 12), a key corridor for production and commerce. Just 8 months after the start of the concession contract, assumed by the operating company in January 2026, the improvements in value enhancement, road recovery, horizontal marking, lighting, and maintenance show a change in scenario compared to the previous state.

According to a statement issued by Autovía del Mercosur, the corridor is undergoing an intensive remodeling process aimed at providing adequate circulation conditions for users.
One of the central milestones that dismantles the opposing rhetoric is the recent technical validation of the project. The National Road Directorate officially certified the value enhancement of the section between the towns of Zárate and Gualeguaychú, corresponding to the first 200 kilometers of the route.
In this stretch, the required parameters were not only fully met but were executed ahead of the estimated time in the original concession schedule, marking progress within the operational plan.
