While at Xeneize they maintain the hope of adding him in the middle of the year, the Argentine forward is considering staying with Loba and could accept a salary reduction.

The future of Paulo Dybala continues to generate buzz and, for now, seems distant from the Argentine football and Boca. When the hope for his possible arrival at Xeneize was growing, reports from Italy claim that the forward is close to agreeing to extend his stay in Rome.

The capital club would have presented him with an offer to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the European season, with a substantial change in the financial conditions. The Córdoba native would go from earning around 8 million euros annually to a salary close to 2.5 million plus bonuses, a considerable reduction that would mark his decision to prioritize staying in the elite. The request from coach Gian Piero Gasperini was key in pushing the negotiation forward, as he considers the striker an important piece within the squad.

In this context, Dybala himself had left the question of his future open: "I don't know anything, I would also like to know, but today the contract says there are two matches left. The only thing I can say is that the derby could be my last match in front of these fans. My idea I keep to myself, we will see at the end of the championship".

The possibility of a return to the country, which excited Boca and was fueled by the winks from Leandro Paredes and people close to the Jewel, loses strength in light of this new scenario. Even, the amount that Roma would put on the table would still be difficult for the Argentine club to match.

Despite a campaign marked by injuries and less continuity, the forward seems inclined to continue in Europe, which postpones, at least for now, the possibility of seeing him in the blue and gold jersey. Meanwhile, Dybala, who recently received a cold shower by being left out of the pre-list of 55 called up for the Argentine National Team for the 2026 World Cup, is navigating the end of the season with key commitments against Lazio and Hellas Verona for a spot in the next edition of the Champions League.
