Inflation fell to 1.9% in June, marking its lowest level in 10 months

Inflation in Argentina slowed down again in June, according to data released by INDEC, with an increase of 1.9% compared to May.

This figure represents a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the 2.1% of the previous month and consolidates the downward trend in the pace of prices. Additionally, it is the lowest increase in the last 10 months.

In year-on-year terms, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 33.5%, with a reduction compared to the previous record, while the accumulated variation in the first six months of the year reached 16.8%.

The monthly dynamics thus confirmed a sustained reduction, in line with the slowdown observed in recent months thanks to the successful economic plan of the Government of Javier Milei.

The official report reveals that the variation in the general level was the lowest since August 2025, reinforcing the trend of disinflation. In parallel, core inflation, which excludes seasonal and regulated components, stood at 1.6% monthly, marking its lowest level since July of last year.

By category, the increase in Food and non-alcoholic beverages was 1.3% in June, while Clothing and footwear recorded a monthly increase of 0.4%. This latter sector showed a year-on-year variation of 11.9%, according to official data.

The deceleration process was also reflected in trend indicators. The three-month moving average decreased 0.5 percentage points compared to May, reaching its lowest level since October of last year. This behavior was noted as a reflection of the continuity of the disinflation process.

Regarding indicators related to the cost of living, the Basic Food Basket (CBA) recorded a monthly increase of 1.3%, in line with the behavior of the food category. Meanwhile, the Total Basic Basket (TBA) showed an increase of 2.2% in the same period.

Thus, the June data confirms a new decrease in monthly inflation and shows a deceleration in both the general index and core inflation, in a context where indicators are beginning to reach minimum levels in several months.
