The Israeli government also decided to end the tasks carried out by London to "train the forces of the Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria under the 'British Support Team in Ramallah'".

Saar presented the set of decisions as "countermeasures" in response to the hostile actions announced by the United Kingdom. The Israeli Foreign Minister particularly questioned the British decision and recalled London's historical support for the creation of the State of Israel.

The Government of Israel announced on Tuesday a series of measures against the United Kingdom in response to the decisions made by London regarding trade with Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria.

Among the main actions is the closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem and the imposition of sanctions on twelve British politicians, including former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, communicated the measures and defended the decision to respond to the hostile actions by the British Government.

As he explained, Israel also decided to expel the United Kingdom from the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), a multinational body responsible for overseeing the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip following the agreement reached in October 2025.

During a press conference, Saar also announced the entry ban to Israel for twelve British politicians and "others" citizens, whom he accused of participating in "antisemitic and anti-Israeli activities, as well as those who deny the existence of the State of Israel".

In this regard, the official pointed directly at the British Labour government and stated that the measures taken by London also have a political motivation linked to the internal scenario of the United Kingdom.

"Unfortunately, there is a hostile Labour government in power that systematically acts against the State of Israel, and that has left us no choice but to finally respond to their hostile actions (...) They decided to do it, on the eve of the holiest days of the Jewish calendar, for internal political reasons, ahead of the Labour Party Congress taking place this month", he assured.

Saar also described the British decision as "morally twisted and a flagrant interference in the affairs of a sovereign state and its electoral process", also referring to the Israeli political calendar, which includes legislative elections in October.

With these measures, Israel responded to the decisions announced by London and established new diplomatic and political restrictions towards representatives and bodies linked to the United Kingdom.
