The political map of America is undergoing a radical transformation to the right. On the historic Friday August 7, the city of Cali became the global epicenter of freedom by hosting the presidential inauguration of the prestigious right-wing lawyer Abelardo de la Espriella. This event marked an unprecedented milestone, being the first presidential handover in Colombia held outside of Bogotá in over a century.

Among the distinguished attendees were Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, Chilean political leader José Antonio Kast, Spanish monarch Felipe VI, and diplomatic delegations from more than a dozen countries. Prior to the official investiture ceremony, Argentine President Javier Milei carried out an intense and fruitful international agenda aimed at strengthening security and ideological cooperation ties.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation led by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, the Argentine head of state held two highly relevant strategic bilateral meetings.

The first was with the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, reaffirming Argentina's alignment with the free world. Immediately after, Javier Milei had a crucial meeting with the newly elected president, Abelardo de la Espriella, being one of the first international contacts of his administration.

The vibrant meeting prior to the presidential inauguration was captured in a video where the Argentine president demonstrated the enormous complicity that unites them under an indomitable mystique: "Long live freedom, damn it. Let's go, Tiger! There’s the tiger and the lion".

The core of the Argentine presidential visit was the generous offer to transfer to Colombia the successful public security policies that have pacified Argentine territory after years of populist neglect.

The Argentine president cited the Plan Bandera as the prime example of his administration, the robust security strategy deployed in Rosario to crush organized crime and drug trafficking.

Regarding this strategic program, Javier Milei proudly stated to the international press: “It has been so successful”. In that line of deep brotherhood and commitment, he firmly emphasized: “we are willing to collaborate with a brotherly people like Colombia”.

When specifically asked about the effectiveness of the tactics applied under his administration regarding addictions, the Argentine leader reiterated emphatically his administration's willingness: “In whatever we can transfer our successful model, we will do it”.

The ambitious proposal for binational cooperation is not limited solely to the operational or police level. With a comprehensive vision of defense, Javier Milei expanded the scope of this national security alliance by stating that the main objective between Argentina and Colombia should be: “Basically to fight against drug trafficking and with everything related to those who try to export terrorism, both factual and ideological”.

From a geopolitical perspective, the president of Argentina analyzed with optimism the overwhelming advance of right-wing forces in the region, sending an unequivocal message to global powers, including the government of the United States.

For Javier Milei, the region is ready to “embrace the path of freedom with increasing strength”, stating with satisfaction that “There are few socialist strongholds left in the region”.

In this new scenario of prosperity and order, the big loser of the day was the outgoing ultra-leftist president Gustavo Petro, whose disastrous administration came to a definitive end.

When asked about the political ostracism of the former guerrilla, Javier Milei was lethal and held nothing back: “Petro has been left out. We continue to triumph not only in Argentina but throughout the continent. It has been proven once again that socialism does not work”.

In another damning statement that summarizes the sentiment of millions of citizens, the Argentine lion described the outgoing ruler as “part of the worst history of Colombia”.

After achieving this historic milestone in regional diplomacy and sealing an unbreakable security commitment with the government of Abelardo de la Espriella, Javier Milei embarked on the return journey to Buenos Aires that same Friday, stating: “I have a busy agenda in Argentina”, leaving in Cali the seed of a new era of order, security, and continental freedom.
