In a strong phone communication with Neura Media, President Javier Milei reaffirmed the path to prosperity. During a live interview for the streaming channel, ArgenData, the President of the Nation provided exclusive details about the solidity of his economic program and launched harsh criticisms against what he called the "political corporation". During his live intervention, he emphasized that, although the EMAE shows monthly volatility, the cycle trend indicator stood at 0.3, which implies that the Argentine economy is already "traveling at a rate of 4%" annually.
These figures are supported by a GDP growth of 2.3% in the first quarter, a figure that the president described as extraordinary when compared to the meager average of 1% recorded in the last 100 years prior to his administration, highlighting that the seasonally adjusted figure of 0.7 projects an annualized growth of 3%.
This economic rebirth has been achieved after defeating an attempt at a "financial and legislative coup" orchestrated by the "political corporation" during the second half of last year. Milei denounced a "destitution attitude" by a Congress that voted on nearly 40 laws to undermine fiscal balance, along with 7 impeachment attempts and a fierce agitation by the "business media".
In a revealing detail of the solidity of the libertarian model, the Head of State reported that Argentina withstood a bank run of 41 billion dollars and a total speculative attack —including the unwinding of LEFI and the increase in reserves— amounting to 70 billion dollars, a figure unprecedented in national history that demonstrates the "strength of the program".
In this scenario of heroic resistance, the president assured that the economy is currently "hyper-shielded" against any speculative attack prior to the elections of 2027. Dismissing the gloomy forecasts of the "econochantas", Milei stated that the Government has already "secured all financing" until the end of his term, which has led the Country Risk to maintain a downward trend, standing below 420 points. For the President, the market signal is unequivocal: "The markets see that we are going to be re-elected".
On an international level that reaffirms his regional leadership, Milei reiterated his full support for the right-wing candidate Flavio Bolsonaro for the elections in Brazil, celebrating what he considers an unstoppable advance of the right in the region. The president highlighted the drastic change in the geopolitics of the southern cone, noting that "since 2021, when the map of South America was completely red, we went from being 12 to 1 against to 7 to 6 in favor". He concluded with a phrase that is already resonating around the world: "The continent is beginning to embrace the ideas of freedom".
