A particular testimony broadcast by C5N went viral on social media after a 35-year-old man waiting in line for a job application criticized President Javier Milei for the termination of the Volver al Trabajo program and having to look for work, after acknowledging that he currently receives financial support from his mother, who receives a minimum pension.
The television crew was in Guernica, where several people were waiting to apply for a job. When asked how long he had been looking for work, the interviewee explained that he previously received Volver al Trabajo and blamed the Government for its termination. “I hope Cristina comes back and this president, that Milei, goes away,” he stated during the conversation, openly expressing his support for former president Cristina Kirchner.
When the journalist asked him how he was currently getting by, the man admitted that he is financially dependent on his mother, just as he previously lived solely on the program without seeking alternative employment. “My mom is helping me with what she receives from her minimum pension,” he explained. According to him, they both live together in a house owned by her.
The exchange drew particular attention when the reporter wanted to know about his work history. When asked what he did before receiving the program, the interviewee again mentioned the state benefit and later explained that since he was 16 years old, he had been doing street and sidewalk cleaning while being involved in the Kirchnerist organization Barrios de Pie.
