In full preparation for the Argentine National Team ahead of the upcoming FIFA date, Lionel Scaloni received two bad news: Thiago Almada and Juan Foyth have been removed from the call-up due to injury.
Through its official social media, the Albiceleste itself announced the decision: "The players Juan Foyth and Thiago Almada are removed due to injury for the triple friendly matches to be held in our country".
Almada's situation became known after his last match with River. The midfielder had to leave the field just five minutes into the first half against Huracán, after feeling a pinch. Subsequent tests determined that he has a grade 1 tear in his left quadriceps, so he will not be able to participate in the matches against Bolivia, Burkina Faso, and Benin.
The Millonario player was not the only one who raised alarms in that match, as Tobías Andrada also had to be replaced. However, tests conducted on the player determined that he did not suffer a muscle injury and remains in Scaloni's call-up.
In Foyth's case, the Villarreal defender has been dealing with muscle discomfort since late August and has not yet fully recovered. Due to this situation, the coaching staff decided not to push him and opted to leave him out of the squad for the three friendlies.
