Public ethics seem to have disappeared under the administration of Gustavo Petro, whose private life is now dangerously intertwined with public funds and political influences. A journalistic investigation has named the woman captured alongside the head of State in Panama in June 2024: she is Vanessa Cortés Carmona, who has been identified by five officials with direct access to the president as his "presumed romantic partner".

What is truly alarming for the Colombian taxpayer is not just the relationship, but the vertigo with which Vanessa Cortés' financial situation skyrocketed after the arrival of the disastrous Petro regime to power. Before August 2022, the woman had no registered companies or properties, and her monthly income as a contractor for the Secretariat of Security of Bogotá or as a supernumerary for the Registrar's Office barely hovered around or was below 3 million pesos.

However, the "change" brought her an inexplicable prosperity: just one month after the presidential inauguration, on September 9, 2022, she established the company Kayros Advice SAS with a paid capital of 200 million pesos, with her as the sole shareholder and legal representative.

The wealth ascent of the presumed partner of the president is worthy of forensic analysis:

Kayros Advice SAS reported income of $600 million pesos in 2025, despite having declared zero income during 2022 and 2023.

Vanessa Cortés acquired a lot of almost eight thousand square meters in La Calera, which she later attempted to sell for $700 million pesos.

According to reports from journalist John Jairo Jácome, the woman travels in a Toyota Prado SUV and owns a house in La Calera, assets that close sources describe as "gifts from the president".

This opulence suspiciously coincides with the president's official trips. Posts from Vanessa Cortés on social media have been identified in the same destinations and dates when Gustavo Petro was fulfilling diplomatic agendas, including Chile, Switzerland, Cairo, and the United Arab Emirates between October and November 2025. The logistics of these meetings suggest a blatant misuse of resources, as it is claimed that "She traveled one or two days earlier and met with him in these places".

The network of benefits extends to dark characters within the presidential circle. The accountant of Vanessa Cortés, Alejandro Herazo Mejía, also founded the company Gracia ERP, linked to the current Deputy Minister of the Interior, Jaime Berdugo, a partnership that went from a minimum capital to reporting income exceeding $2.4 billion pesos in 2024. Additionally, connections with the controversial contractor Euclides Torres, identified as a financier of Gustavo Petro's campaign, have been mentioned.

The secrecy surrounding this scandal seems to have finally been broken. One of the consulted sources was emphatic in stating: "We didn't say anything because we know it's very delicate, but now that it's public, we feel relieved of that secret. It was about to explode for a while now." While the country suffers the consequences of a destructive government, the inner circles of Gustavo Petro seem to be enjoying a financial feast that cries out for immediate and thorough investigation.
