Left-wing organizations and trade union sectors defined a schedule of protests and pickets that will last over the next few weeks, contrary to the successful economic plan of the Government of Javier Miley.
Among the first actions planned, on Friday, April 17, a public hearing will be held with opposition national deputies. Later, on Tuesday 21st, a congress is scheduled at the headquarters of the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP), where the participation of different representatives is expected.
In parallel, the organizations are preparing a pilgrimage with torches in honor of the late Pope Francis, in an initiative that will combine religious slogans with criticism of the Government.
These activities are complemented by the organization of a hearing promoted by the Economics Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, in which representatives from different sectors will participate.

These left-wing organizations seek to install the story of what they consider to be the “negative consequences” of Milei's policies on “popular economies”, in a scenario where poverty continues to fall, reaching 28% for the second half of 2025, according to INDEC data
.
The CGT
agenda will continue on April 30, with participation in the protest in Plaza de Mayo organized by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) in the framework of Worker's
Day.
In this context, Jorge Sola, a member of the triumvirate that heads the CGT, explained that the call responds to alleged complaints about “the fall in purchasing power, the loss of wages and family indebtedness”.
However, it is striking that the combative attitude of the CGT in this government, given that during Kirchnerism, and particularly the last administration of Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner, the workers' federation was silent while the country was being destroyed with a serious economic crisis, hyperinflation and increasing poverty.

This is not an isolated event.
UTEP has already participated in other protests organized by the CGT, consolidating a dynamic of protests that is repeated at each new stage of economic reforms, essential for long-term growth and stability.
Looking ahead to the month of May, the calendar of protests will continue with new days of protests on public roads. Movements such as Evita, Barrios de Pie, the Excluded Workers Movement and the Class and Combative Current plan to hold demonstrations on the 5th and 7th, which will be preceded by tours in different provinces with activities of debate
and territorial organization.
One of the central axes of the conflict is linked to the elimination of the “Back to Work” program, formerly known as Empowering Work.
This scheme granted a monthly economic sum of $78,000 to approximately 900,000 beneficiaries, an inefficient system that will be replaced by a system of direct payment through job training “vouchers”, with the objective of boosting formal employment, in line with the changes promoted by the Government of Milei.
