After the international window in March, the FIFA Ranking closed a new period of updates. In this sense, the Argentine National Team was one of those affected by the latest changes, since, despite its victories against Mauritania and Zambia, it fell to third place in the classification.

Although those led by Lionel Scaloni maintained second position until before their friendly matches, the few points they scored for their games against the Africans and the great climb of France, which achieved several units thanks to its triumphs against higher-ranking countries such as Brazil and Colombia, caused him to lose his second place.

In addition to beating Albiceleste in the table, the Gauls also surpassed Spain, which since the middle of last year was No. 1 in the world.

Beyond the changes, the fight for the lead is separated by very few points: France leads with 1877.32, followed closely by Spain with 1876.40 and Argentina with 1874.81.

On the other hand, the rest of the top 10 also showed some moves. While England remained in fourth place, Portugal climbed to fifth place and displaced Brazil, which fell to sixth. Lower down, the positions remained intact: the Netherlands seventh, Morocco eighth, Belgium ninth

and Germany tenth.

The next update to the FIFA Ranking will take place in early June, in the friendly round leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
