Sony discussed the price of the PlayStation 6 and explained how it will assess the value of the PS6 in light of rising costs

For now, Sony has not confirmed the release date of the PlayStation 6 or its official price.
The company's president, Hiroki Totoki, had previously indicated that none of those decisions had been made and that the company is closely monitoring the evolution of the component market before moving forward with final planning.
Meanwhile, the statements to investors represent one of the clearest signals so far about the impact that production costs could have on the next generation of PlayStation consoles.

Sony stated that the PlayStation hardware remains the foundation of its business and affirmed that it aims to offer products whose prices reflect the value that users receive.
"As a principle, we do not intend to sell hardware at significant losses. At the same time, we continue to carefully monitor the market and evaluate our approach," the company expressed.
The statements come as the industry faces rising costs for components such as RAM and SSD storage units.
