The Argentine National Team achieved a heroic qualification to the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup after defeating Egypt 3-2 in a thrilling match in the round of 16. Scaloni's team came back from a 0-2 deficit and sealed the victory in just 13 minutes at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

On his Instagram account, the former footballer shared an image of Lionel Messi emotional, with tears in his eyes, and left a message full of recognition.

"What guts, what will to win, what struggle and what dedication from everyone. That is what fans expect to see on the field in a World Cup," wrote the Brazilian legend. With these words, Rivaldo highlighted the determination shown by La Scaloneta to turn around a match that seemed lost.
Regarding the Argentine captain, he was even more complimentary. At 39 years old and playing in his sixth World Cup, Messi remains decisive and shows the same passion as always for the albiceleste jersey.
