Rosalía sparked criticism after sharing a video mocking the Argentine National Team for the World Cup final

The discussion quickly moved to social media, where criticism of the singer coexisted with messages that downplayed the meaning of her repost.

Antonela Roccuzzo's message to Lionel Messi after the final

After the defeat of the Argentine National Team in the final of the 2026 World Cup, Antonela Roccuzzo posted a message dedicated to Lionel Messi along with an image of the captain with the runner-up medal.

"You will always be the best @leomessi. Not only for your talent but because you never stopped being you. Because no matter what happens, you never give up, you always fight until the end and give everything of yourself until the last second," she expressed.

She also highlighted: "That strength, that mentality, and that way of getting up time and time again are what make you unique. Thank you for teaching us every day that true success is built with work, sacrifice, perseverance, and never losing your essence."

Finally, she closed her message with a personal dedication: "You are the best example for our children and an inspiration for millions of people. I admire you more than words can express and I feel immensely proud to walk this life by your side. I love you so much."

Rosalía received criticism from Argentine users after reposting a video from Mía Khalifa following the final of the 2026 World Cup between Spain and Argentina

The content was interpreted by her followers as a mockery of the Argentine National Team, although others argued that the singer only shared the video because it featured one of her songs.

What Rosalía shared after the 2026 World Cup final

The controversy began when Rosalía reposted on her TikTok account a video published by Mía Khalifa, who celebrated the crowning of Spain in the final of the 2026 World Cup, held in New Jersey.

The Spanish team defeated the Argentine National Team 1-0 and took the title. Before the match, Khalifa had already publicly expressed her support for Spain and even bet a significant amount of money on that outcome.

In the video, the former adult film actress appears stepping out onto the balcony with New York City in the background while La perla, a song included in the album Lux by Rosalía, plays.

Along with the images, she wrote: "How life sounds now that the pearls have been defeated", accompanied by several Spanish flags.

The criticism Rosalía received on social media

After the repost, numerous Argentine users questioned Rosalía for considering that she supported the message published by Mía Khalifa after Argentina's defeat.

At the same time, other users defended the Spanish artist and pointed out that she probably shared the content solely because it used one of her songs, without intending to mock Argentines.

• "That she celebrates her country's victory is great. But for you to agree that Argentines are 'some pearls' seems a bit hypocritical to me."
