Beni Mármol and Pato Perrotta broke their silence after regaining their freedom following their detention in Miami during the match between Colombia and Portugal for the 2026 World Cup. The Argentine YouTubers denied having entered the Hard Rock Stadium irregularly and explained what happened.
In a live broadcast on their social media, both stated that they had an official FIFA credential to work on the tournament coverage and claimed they were never notified that it had been deactivated.

What Beni Mármol and Pato Perrotta said about the detention in Miami
During the live stream, Pato Perrotta explained that the trip to the United States was made with an official accreditation that, as he indicated, was provided by "a very, very well-known Argentine public media outlet."
"I want to clarify that we did not sneak in. It all started when we came to Miami with an official FIFA credential that was given to us by a very, very well-known Argentine public media outlet," he stated, while Beni Mármol supported his account.
The content creator maintained that this credential allowed them to enter matches held in Mexico and the United States. He even pointed out that they had already used it previously to attend the match between Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
"That credential we had allowed even for the final. It was a credential to be a FIFA member as a media partner," he added.
Why, according to the YouTubers, they were denied entry to the stadium
Pato Perrotta claimed that the issue arose because the accreditation had been deactivated without them receiving any notification.

"The problem was that when we were going to Colombia-Portugal, they had deactivated our credential and did not notify us. No one informed us that our credential had been deactivated and that our entry to the stadiums had been suspended," he explained.
