Initially, it was expected that the hospitalization would be brief, but the injuries required a longer period of rest and medical follow-up.
During the first few days, Baltazar Jaramillo, another of Silveyra's sons, explained to LA NACION that the fracture did not require surgical intervention. “Mom is fine. She fell on Sunday; she has a fracture that requires a long, long, long rest. It is not operable,” he stated.
He also shared how she was feeling emotionally after the accident: “She is really angry with herself; she doesn’t listen. She’s fine, it hurt a lot, and she’s in a terrible mood, but she’s in good health.”
As the weeks went by, her recovery progressed favorably. Days before being discharged, LAM had already reported that her pelvis was recovering satisfactorily and that her return home was near.
The health issues she faced before hospitalization
The fall occurred after Silveyra had experienced other physical issues in recent months. Some time ago, she had suffered another accident during a stay in Punta del Este, when she tripped over a suitcase and fell on her hip area.
The actress had also publicly stated that she was suffering from severe pain, which had affected part of her professional activity. In an interview with Ángel de Brito, she mentioned her back problems, and there was talk of a case of trochanteritis, an inflammation affecting the lateral area of the hip.
After 22 days of hospitalization, Soledad Silveyra was discharged and returned home to continue her recovery. The actress had been admitted to the Otamendi Sanatorium at the beginning of September after suffering a fall at her home that caused a pelvic fracture and a sacral fissure.
It was the actress herself who confirmed the news this Tuesday through her social media. There, she shared some images from the days she spent hospitalized and spoke about the process that still lies ahead.
“I’m already at home after 22 days. I had a pelvic fracture and a sacral fissure. I’m putting all the strength I can into recovering,” she expressed.
Soledad Silveyra has been discharged
Silveyra acknowledged that the last few weeks were marked by severe pain, but emphasized the support of her loved ones as a fundamental part of coping with the situation.
“I have gone through a lot of pain, but with the support of my family, my beloved grandchildren, I am convinced that I will get through this, loving and respecting myself and, above all, taking better care of myself than I have until now,” she reflected.
Additionally, she thanked her coworkers, the staff at the Otamendi Sanatorium, and the press for the respect with which they treated her situation. Finally, she made it clear what one of her main goals is: “I love you all, my dear people, and I promise to do everything possible to be back on stage soon.”
