The Government of Javier Milei announced this Thursday that the exports of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) reached the highest value recorded since 2013 during the first seven months of the year, with a 26% growth compared to the same period in 2025.

The data was released by the Minister of Economy, Luis “Toto” Caputo, through his X account, based on information from the Subsecretariat of Small and Medium Enterprises. According to the presented data, SMEs accumulated exports of USD 6.446 billion between January and July, marking a significant increase compared to the previous year.

Caputo highlighted the result by stating that the external sales of SMEs thus reached their highest level in the last 13 years. The performance also occurred alongside a rise in the number of companies participating in exports.

According to the information released by the Ministry of Economy, the number of exporting companies grew by 4% compared to last year and increased by 6.6% compared to 2023.

Thus, the growth of external sales was accompanied by a greater number of firms that placed their products in international markets.

Strong growth by company size

The increase in exports was recorded across different segments of SMEs, although microenterprises showed the highest growth during the analyzed period.

Microenterprise exports increased by 31.4% during the first seven months of the year. Meanwhile, small enterprises raised their external sales by 30.1%, while medium enterprises recorded a rise of 22.9%.

The data thus shows growth in exports across all three segments considered within the universe of SMEs, with increases exceeding 20% in both small and medium enterprises.
