The province of Corrientes announced a historic investmentof 2 billion dollars for the construction of an industrial plant in Ituzaingó, for the production and export of high-quality pine fiber.
“Today begins a story of transformation for the economy of the province of Corrientes and the city of Ituzaingó: the creation of a plant to industrialize high-quality pine fiber and export it to the entire world from the province itself,” the provincial government said, reflecting official enthusiasm for the announcement.

The initiative will be developed in the Ituzaingó Industrial Park and will be led by the company ARPULP S.A., an Argentinean-backed firm with experience in the
region.
As reported, it will be the largest long-fiber pine plant in the world, with state-of-the-art technology and an annual turnover projection of close to 900 million dollars.
Governor Juan Pablo Valdés highlighted the social and economic impact of the project: “This is an opportunity for growth and development for the province, which will serve to create genuine employment and will impact the prosperity of thousands of Corrientes families.”
From the private sector, Alejandra Aranda, CEO of Arpulp, detailed the planned schedule: “We will have several critical stages ahead of us to take the project to its final phase. During 2026, the priority will be to conduct an in-depth environmental study, aligned with global quality and safety standards for this category.”
They will build the largest pine fiber plant in the world.
In addition, he indicated that “the Pegasus investment fund will begin with the tasks of seeking large scale strategic financing”, while by 2027 progress will be made in
engineering the project.
Regarding the execution deadlines, Fernando Correa, responsible for industrial technology, explained that “if all the financial requirements manage to advance in time, between 2028 and 2030 we will be dedicated to the construction of the model plant, to start operating fully towards the end of 2030”.
In addition, they highlighted that the local production of this input will not only replace imports, but also position Argentina in segments with greater added value within the global chain.
The Argentine Industrial Forestry Council (Confiar) welcomed the announcement, considering that it “represents one of the most important milestones for the Argentine forestry industry in recent decades.”
