Thanks to the excellent management of the Government of Javier Milei, Aerolíneas Argentinas has once again recorded positive net equity after more than ten years and, for the first time since its creation, will have to pay the Income Tax.

This information was confirmed by the Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, who highlighted the historic results achieved during 2025 and emphasized the structural change in the financial situation of the state-owned company.

According to the official, the airline achieved a net profit of $238 billion during the last fiscal year, along with an operating surplus (EBIT) of USD 120.6 million.

Thus, the company managed to close with a positive result for the second consecutive year, consolidating a trend that contrasts with the performance recorded in previous years, during the Kirchnerist administrations.

Caputo also emphasized that the company did not require transfers from the National Treasury, something that had not happened since the State took majority control of the company. This is one of the main milestones within the process of restructuring state-owned companies driven by the libertarian administration.

In this regard, the minister recalled that “Between 2008 and 2023, Aerolíneas received more than USD 8 billion in transfers from the State,” which marked a strong dependence on public funds to sustain its operation.

In light of this scenario, he stated that the current situation represents a significant change, asserting that “today it stops being a burden for taxpayers and starts generating value again.”

The message was disseminated through social media, where the head of the Economy also linked the results to the general economic policy of the Government.

“This is the way: fiscal balance, efficiency in management, and a State that takes care of the resources of Argentinians,” he expressed, in line with the approach of deficit reduction and optimization of public spending promoted by Milei's administration.

The significant improvement in the indicators of Aerolíneas Argentinas is due to a combination of adjustments in the operational structure, greater control of spending, and decisions aimed at improving profitability. In this context, the company managed to reverse years of negative results and dependence on state financing.

Caputo also dedicated recognition to the leadership of the company and its president: “Thanks to Fabián Lombardo and his entire team for this great work!”.
