The sector is on track to close 2026 with exports close to USD 50 billion, in a year marked by strong growth in agro-industrial production and an official projection that places Argentina's total external sales above USD 100 billion.

During the Agribusiness Forum organized by AmCham Argentina, the Chief of Cabinet, Diego Santilli, stated that the country's exports would reach USD 103 billion this year, a figure that would represent

A substantial part of that result would come from the agro-industrial complex. Sector estimates point to production exceeding 165 million tons of grains, accompanied by higher revenues from beef and improvements in sectors such as dairy, fishing, timber, pork, peanuts, and poultry production.

The official data known so far shows this trend. Between January and July 2026, agro-industrial exports reached USD 32.507 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15%, while the volume sold reached 74.3 million tons, a record for the first seven months of the year.

The scenario also unfolds as the Government moves forward with a gradual reduction of export duties. In June, an additional cut for wheat and barley came into effect, while from 2027 a reduction schedule for soybeans, corn, sunflowers, sorghum, and their derivatives will begin.

During the business meeting, the CEO of AmCham Argentina, Alejandro Díaz, also raised the need to advance with reforms related to railway and road infrastructure, tax simplification, intellectual property, and a progressive reduction of withholdings.

Santilli stated that the challenge is to consolidate an economy with a greater long-term horizon and highlighted the reduction of the tax burden driven by the administration of Javier Milei. He also rejected the idea that greater export competitiveness depends on a devaluation.

The agro sector would not be, however, the only engine. Energy, fuels, mining, and knowledge-based services also emerge as relevant sectors within the projected export expansion.

The agro-industry had already reached exports of USD 52.337 billion in 2025, with a record of 115.4 million tons traded. In 2026, growth continued: only during the first five months, agro-industrial external sales had increased by 17% year-on-year in value.
