The mortgage credit market has once again shown dynamism over the past two years.
This is reflected in a report prepared by the Professional College of Real Estate Agents of Córdoba (CPI), which warned that there is a growth in operations.
After several years of being practically paralyzed, credit began to reactivate in 2024 and reached its recent peak in 2025, when more than 40,500 mortgage loans were granted across the country, quadrupling the levels of the previous year.
Córdoba, the main mortgage market in the Argentine interior
Within this scenario, Córdoba stands out as the main mortgage market in the Argentine interior.
During 2025, the province recorded 3,780 operations, representing 9.6% of the national total.
However, the report indicates that Córdoba faces significant challenges to maintain this positioning in a context where credit tends to concentrate more and more in Buenos Aires.
Among the main difficulties are the lack of properties suitable for credit, the scarce systematization of data, and the need for greater coordination with the financial system.
A market with potential
The report highlights that Argentina still has a wide margin for growth in mortgage matters.
Currently, mortgage credit represents only 1% of GDP, far below other countries in the region.
The macroeconomic stability that the government of Javier Milei is fostering is key.
Córdoba appears to have the potential to consolidate as the main mortgage hub in the interior, although to achieve this it will need to improve access conditions and strengthen the coordination between the financial and real estate sectors.
