In the midst of the 2026 World Cup, a new controversy emerged on social media after various accounts with significant reach on X reported the existence of a supposed coordinated campaign to discredit the Argentine National Team during the tournament.

According to posts made by profiles specialized in football, a public relations agency allegedly contacted content creators and influencers with a financial proposal to publish messages that would instill the idea that the path of the team led by Lionel Scaloni was favored or "rigged".

According to one of the profiles that made the situation public, the proposal consisted of spreading critical content about Argentina's participation in the World Cup, presenting the team's performance under a narrative of alleged irregularities.

The account claimed to have rejected the offer and decided to expose the supposed contact received, which quickly generated repercussions among users and other pages dedicated to football news.

Following that post, several users began to link the episode with the simultaneous appearance of numerous messages questioning the Albiceleste's journey in the competition.

The allegations fueled the debate about the possible existence of coordinated campaigns to influence public conversation during major sporting events, a practice that often generates controversy on digital platforms.
