Graham Platner, the far-left candidate known for having a Nazi tattoo on his body, dropped out of the race for the Senate in Maine after winning more than 70% of the votes in the state's Democratic primary last May.
Platner announced his departure through a video on X the day after another woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. This allegation was added to that of Jennifer Racicot, the politician's ex-girlfriend, who revealed that in 2021, Platner entered her home without her permission and forced himself on her while she asked him to stop.
"I remember he grabbed my pelvis and was very forceful with me,” Jenny Racicot told Politico. "I remember the specific moment when I thought to myself: 'This is no longer my choice'." The new accuser, named Lyndsey Fifield, detailed to the Washington Post that the degenerate Democrat had a habit of removing contraceptive protection without her consent.
Platner had the support of the far-left wing of the opposition led by Bernie Sanders.
One less Nazi
Platner posted a video on Monday on his social media denying the accusations. "These accusations are concerning, serious, and false. Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically false," declared the far-left activist.
The Democrats of Maine voted massively for Platner knowing he had a Nazi tattoo (more specifically a totenkopf, the skull used by the SS) and knowing that he had sexually assaulted several women he dated. Despite this victory, opposition allies decided they needed to replace him after the ex-girlfriend came forward and accused him of rape.
It will now be the opposition's task to hold another primary election and find another candidate to defeat Susan Collins, the veteran Republican senator who has represented Maine in the Senate since 1997 and is one of the most moderate politicians in the ruling party.
To clean up the party's image, it is rumored that the Democrats want to nominate state representative Valli Geiger, a nurse and former mayor of the city of Rockland who supported Platner at the time and who, when the allegations against him began to accumulate, quickly distanced herself and started measuring herself as a candidate.
