The president Donald Trump announced this Friday morning that Iran has requested to continue peace talks after being attacked the last two nights by the United States for breaking the ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz and attacking two commercial ships.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue the 'conversations'. We have agreed to do so, but the United States has made it very clear to them that the ceasefire has ENDED! Thank you for your attention to this matter", reads the statement sent by Trump.
The president had already declared on Wednesday to reporters during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, that this ceasefire was "over" and described the officials of the Islamic regime as "scum", stating that he no longer wanted to deal with them.

Qatar seeks to resume dialogue
The memorandum of understanding signed by the two conflicting nations last month dictated the start of a ceasefire that would last 60 days while negotiations progressed to reach a long-term peace agreement that would include the elimination of the regime's nuclear program. However, the dictatorship of the ayatollahs continues to attack ships in Hormuz and violate the terms of this truce, attempting to regain control of this critical waterway.
