An officer of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was arrested this Friday morning in the state of Texas, after being charged in a shooting that occurred in the state of Minnesota on January 14, in which an undocumented Venezuelan was injured.

Earlier this month, the far-left prosecutor of the city of Minneapolis, Mary Moriarty, funded by billionaire George Soros, charged the federal agent, identified as Christian Castro, with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of false reporting of a crime.

In the incident, ICE agents shot an illegal immigrant armed with a shovel after he attempted to assault the federal law officers. The Venezuelan teenager, named Julio Sosa-Celis, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

The incident for which Castro is now charged occurred amid a strong climate of political tension incited by the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, who claimed at the time that federal forces "are going door to door demanding that citizens mark where their neighbors of color live." This statement resulted in multiple targeted attacks against ICE agents carried out by Democratic Party activists.

Castro was arrested today by federal authorities in Texas following orders from the prosecutor's office led by Moriarty. Castro's lawyers will attempt to move the case to federal court and take the case out of the hands of the Democratic judicial official. If the case goes to federal court and the defendant is convicted, he would be eligible for a presidential pardon.
