The government of President Donald Trump is preparing to drastically escalate its "Economic Fury" campaign against the Iranian terrorist regime, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stating that a new package of measures will be launched next week.
The official added that the initiative will reach a level of "unprecedented in the history of economic isolation", in combination with a U.S. naval blockade designed to completely paralyze commercial activity in Iranian ports.
"We are going to impose unprecedented sanctions in terms of economic suffocation on a country", Bessent assured. "A year ago, on March 25, the president ordered me to apply maximum pressure on the Iranian regime, and we did so from the Treasury," emphasized the Treasury chief.
So far, Washington has targeted the "bank accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, and assets around the world" of the regime's leaders and state structure. One of the country's most important banks collapsed at the end of last year, forcing the dictatorship to issue unbacked currency, skyrocketing inflation and further deteriorating the local economy.
