The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under President Trump carried out a historic operation that culminated in the impressive figure of 1,328 illegal immigrants arrested in the states of Virginia and Maryland in just 14 days.

The massive operation, which lasted from August 1 to 14, saw federal agents acting in jurisdictions that are "sanctuary cities", meaning places where Democratic officials seek to protect undocumented foreigners.

Fox News reported that in the successful operation nearly 400 illegal foreigners with criminal convictions or pending criminal charges were arrested, in addition to others accused of attempted murder, rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, robbery, and driving under the influence.

Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, praised the ICE agents responsible for the historic raid. "In the course of just two weeks in Virginia and Maryland, they arrested sexual offenders, kidnappers, drunk drivers, assailants, and gang members," the government official told Fox.

Mullin emphasized that Democratic politicians in Virginia and Maryland prioritize protecting undocumented foreigners over American citizens and promised that the Trump administration will continue removing such immigrants from American communities.

One of the first actions taken by Democratic Governor of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, when she took office in January of this year was to rescind the executive order of her Republican predecessor Glenn Youngkin that required the Virginia State Police to participate and assist ICE in enforcing federal immigration laws.

Youngkin's decree had also established a task force of state agents endowed with federal authority to help identify and detain undocumented foreigners with criminal records who posed a threat to public safety. Strangely, Spanberger also dismantled this cooperation when she took office.
