''The claims about a financial agreement between the Peace Board and Hamas are false,'' Mladenov stated, asserting that that possibility was never discussed, negotiated, or considered and that it will not be part of future conversations.
The statement seeks to put an end to the speculation that has arisen in recent days about the possibility of Hamas receiving funds indirectly as part of an agreement to advance the disarmament process. According to Mladenov, the financial mechanism designed for the reconstruction of Gaza will completely exclude the terrorist group and will not allow resources to be channeled through its institutions.
