After a two-day legal battle in which Joe Biden did everything possible to prevent them from coming to light, a federal court allowed the organization The Oversight Project to publish audio recordings and transcripts of interviews that the former president had in 2016 and 2017 with his personal biographer, Mark Zwonitzer.
The documents are filled with redactions (redactions) because they contain classified information that Biden provided to Zwonitzer. Some parts were censored by the U.S. Department of Defense as the then-vice president discussed the presence of troops in Afghanistan in 2009, while others were redacted by the CIA invoking the National Security Act.
"The listener should not overlook the redactions in the audio, as they are intended to cover up the revelation of classified information," The Oversight Project stated in a press release. "The silence of the redactions clearly demonstrates that Biden consciously and deliberately disclosed classified information to his ghostwriter."

However, from these files, it can be inferred that Biden was already showing signs of senility and mental deterioration more than a decade ago. He confused days and could not remember the names of his advisors. One example occurred in April 2017, when the former vice president failed to remember the name of one of his economic advisors, Alan Krueger. "I should write down the names because I keep forgetting them," he confesses in one of the audios.
