The U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, announced new sanctions against three organizations and two individuals linked to extreme left networks that promote or facilitate violent activities. The measure reinforces the Republican administration's strategy to use federal government financial tools against groups it considers a terrorist threat.
The Treasury Department, through the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), designated the Italian organization ''Autistici Inventati'', the British group ''Palestine Action'', and the transnational organization ''Masar Badil'' under Executive Order 13224, one of the main U.S. authorities to impose sanctions against organizations linked to terrorism. Also sanctioned were Zaid Abdulnasser, based in Germany, and Rawa Alsagheer, based in Brazil, identified as leaders of Masar Badil.
Bessent defended the offensive and warned that the government of Donald Trump will continue to attack the funding sources of groups responsible for political violence. The Secretary stated that leftist extremists, their front organizations, and those who support them must know that the United States will use all its economic instruments to prevent them from maintaining their operations.

The decision was accompanied by a measure from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who described extreme left terrorism as a serious threat to the United States and the West. Rubio particularly highlighted ''Autistici Inventati'', described by the State Department as a far-left tech collective whose services are said to have been used by violent Antifa cells both inside and outside the United States.
According to the State Department, ''Rose City Antifa'', based in Oregon, allegedly used tools provided by the collective to organize and encourage violent acts on U.S. territory. Washington also noted that a media group operating on that infrastructure publishes statements related to organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
