The Trump Justice Department deported an ISIS terrorist this Friday who planned to carry out an attack on Election Day in 2024. The 47-year-old Afghan citizen Nazira Haji Zada was planning the attack along with her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and her son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, who were also arrested and convicted.

For the first time in history, it was the Foreign Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC) that issued a deportation order for Zada, who was living in Texas at the time of her arrest. This special court was created by Congress in 1996, and Trump becomes the first president to make use of it.

"From the moment President Trump took office, he made it clear that his administration would prioritize the safety of the American people," stated the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, regarding the case.

"The President's directive to use the Foreign Terrorist Removal Court to expel Nazira Haji Zada, an Afghan citizen who conspired with family members to carry out an ISIS-inspired attack on U.S. soil, fulfills that promise," added the senior official.

"Thanks to the President's leadership and the coordinated efforts of the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice, and State, the final removal order for Nazira Haji Zada is now FINAL. Those who plan acts of terrorism against the United States have no place in our country. We will find them and use all available legal tools to remove them," he stated.

Federal prosecutors proved in court that Zada was a foreign terrorist, a fact that the defendant herself admitted, leading to the cancellation of her immigration status. Zada's 17-year-old son, Abdullah, and her 28-year-old son-in-law, Tawhedi, were arrested on October 7, 2024, while purchasing weapons and ammunition to carry out the attack.

The son of Zada pleaded guilty as an adult and received a 15-year prison sentence, while Abdullah, who holds a permanent resident card in the U.S., agreed to be deported to Afghanistan once he serves his sentence. Tawhedi also admitted to intending to carry out a mass shooting on behalf of ISIS and awaits sentencing.
