The Trump administration dismantled a Chinese hacking network that hacked NASA, the Senate, and other agencies

The Department of Justice of the Trump administration reported this Wednesday that it seized internet domains used by two hacking networks linked to the Communist Party of China (CPC) to infiltrate U.S. government agencies such as NASA, the Federal Reserve, the Senate, among others. The two platforms were called "QScan" and "QTRouter".

The group "QTFY," sponsored by the communist regime of Beijing and a subsidiary of the Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology Company based in the Asian country, created and operated the platforms, U.S. government prosecutors detailed in a statement.

The hacker group offered tools that allowed malicious actors to carry out hacking activities while concealing the country of origin of the cybercriminals, the statement from the Justice Department continues. The entities affected by this Chinese hacking network included the Department of Energy, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Institutes of Health.

"State-sponsored malicious hackers attacking critical infrastructure in the United States will be stopped and prosecuted. We are here to ensure the safety of the American people and will use all the tools at our disposal to fulfill that promise," stated Attorney General Todd Blanche in the document.

Judicial documents indicate that QTFY offers hacking services to clients in exchange for financial compensation, and coincidentally among its clientele is the Ministry of State Security of the People's Republic of China and the People's Liberation Army.
