During a virtual intervention in support of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump asserted that the central goal of his administration remains to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons. “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, it’s as simple as that”, he declared. “We are winning that battle and you will really win it in the next two weeks when we declare a total victory”.
The statement comes just hours after a day of maximum tension. Although both sides had agreed to a ceasefire brokered by Washington, Iran launched missiles towards northern Israel on Sunday night, triggering alarms in several localities.
